We only link out
Each listing points to the model's page on its host, such as Printables or Thingiverse. You download from there, so the designer keeps the page views, comments and credit.
We never rehost
We do not store or redistribute model files. We do not copy host images or descriptions. Every blurb on this site is our own writing, and every drawing is an original illustration of a type of object, not a picture of a listed model.
We respect licenses
Licenses vary by model and can change. Some allow commercial use and remixes, and some do not. The host page is the only place to trust, so check it before you print to sell, remix or share a model. A listing here gives you no extra rights.
Check the source first
Before you print anything from this directory, take four steps on the host page.
- Check fit. Read the dimensions on the host page and compare them with your print bed and the space the part will live in. Confirm the exact printer, tool or furniture the part was designed for.
- Check material. See what the designer recommends. Think about heat, load and sunlight where the part will be used, since those decide the material more than the look does.
- Check license. Read the current license on the host page. It tells you whether you can sell prints, share changes or only print for yourself.
- Check assembly notes. Look for hardware lists, print orientation, support advice and the order of parts. Comments and community photos often show problems the description leaves out.
Report a bad link
A link should be fixed or removed if it is dead or points to the wrong model, or if the designer wants the listing taken down.
We do not have a public inbox yet, so there is no direct way to send a report today. In the meantime, we recheck every listed URL with a script when the site is updated, and we remove links that have gone. The contact page will show an address as soon as there is one.
